A historic baroque palace in the heart of Horsens

The Lichtenberg Palace, now Jørgensens Hotel, was built in 1744 by Horsens' great merchant Gehrdt de Lichtenberg. He displayed his success and wealth throughout the palace with a grandeur rarely seen in Danish market towns—beautiful ceiling paintings, fine cabinets, a rich library, and the Royal Suite with its collection of rare ceremonial weapons.

In 1749, King Frederik V stayed at the palace and appointed Lichtenberg as Councillor of State. Since 1813, the palace has served as a guesthouse and hotel, welcoming guests with the same spirit of hospitality and elegance that defined its origins.
